shannon came over last week and we made homemade chicken pot pie.  while it was baking, the pie from the top shelf of the oven overflowed and dripped on this one on the bottom shelf....

if you look at the top left side of the pie, the bubbled up sauce is heart shaped too!!

i have to explain about this heart.   a while back i was busy painting a piece of furniture when i asked austen to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  my wonderful 13 year-old brought it to me
 cut like the one above and my heart went all pitter-patter.
he really loves his mama!!!

after reading suzanne's blog i was inspired to post ten random pictures every tuesday

we are expecting a huge snowstorm starting tonight. it is supposed to impact about 30 states across the nation.  they say it could be more than a foot of snow.  we haven't had that much snow in one storm in quite a few years.  

however,

they have been wrong in the past, in fact, about 3 years ago, they predicted 8-10 inches of snow. they announced the schools closed the day before the storm, don got up an hour early for work and we got 2 inches.....

don isn't holding his breath on this one.....
