fall is here......

and it arrived like gangbusters.  after a very cold, gray and soggy september, autumn arrived in all of her brightly clothed splendor.....

but the prettiest things i've this fall were these two princesses...

a new, old mirror

i picked this mirror up at the habitat for humanity re-store this summer trying to do my part
to reuse and recycle the world's crap junk...
it was hideous.  seriously, who would have this......
in their house?  a woman was hauling this out of her car to donate when i spotted it.
she took $5.00 for it....
i was horrified, yet strangely fascinated at the same time.

then i was horrified again when i saw the big crack in the frame.
well, a little bit of glue and my
very best friend, heirloom white...and....
hello, gorgeous
please ignore the crack in the driveway....we had a crappy builder...

(what is with that face??? is that how i look when i take pictures??  i'm surprised kids smile for me at all!!)

another piece rescued from fugly
and
from 70's sick to shabby chic...

then, i saw this on someone's blog
a very close match to my little redo project.
the price tag on that mirror???  $65.

score!!!

baby "r"

i scheduled a photoshoot for yesterday.  all last week, i watched the weather.  because you know that here in michigan it's a real crapshoot to get good weather on any given day, or hour for that matter.  well, the forecast for sunday was not good. in fact, the whole weekend was supposed to be a washout.  so i suggested friday afternoon instead.  temps in the 80's and sunny....

and doesn't a dandelion taste better when the sun is shining?

she just had her first birthday, so she had a cake....

and got to wear a tutu...

and fed dog biscuits to her dog, buck  (big, big buck!!!)

she had just learned to take her first steps...and what is better than first steps
than first steps in a tutu??

she has her grammie's eyes...

and her mama's sweet smile....

thanks, "k" for letting me go with my instincts.  we had a great day!
