signs of spring

spring cannot come early enough for me.  ever.  the older i get, the more i dislike winter.  oh, winter and snow is okay from about december 15th through january.  then i want warm, green and flowers.  i get so tired of gray, brown and dark.

finally, some hope for warm weather here in stark michigan.

my beloved lilacs...probably my favorite spring flower.

the chives.  

these are part of a plant that was growing at my childhood home and was given to me by my dad when 

we moved into this home 10 years ago.

 i can't remember what these herbs are.  but they are pretty hardy, the first, along with the chives, to push their way through the garden soil.  

our strawberry plants...which most of the fruit ends being eaten by this one......

yup...he's ready...

hurry summer!!!!
