twin tables...

my friend lisa found these less than attractive tables from a seller on craigslist.  she needed nightstands for her bedroom and these seemed like a great fit size and price wise...
except that they were too short to be bedside tables for her king sized bed. so i gave them extensions, leg extensions...as shown on the left side...
i used a small leg that really wasn't a leg, it was some kind of moulding trim but i used it because it was the right diameter.
i attached it to the table using these
dowel screws that i drilled into the end of the moulding
and screwed into the table legs
i used a little wood filler to even it out
then sanded and painted.
the color she wanted was windsurf by behr.
after a coat of chocolate glaze and a coat of poly.....
 here they are...

they have two different knobs because lisa wasn't sure which one she is going to use....
in the end, she is using the ceramic blue one...

i have a few more projects that i am going to be starting....
this cute little chair
was a $5.00 bargain from the lady i bought a dresser from on craigslist.
i love that you can go to pick up one piece and end up with a few more great things that you didn't expect to get.  i sometimes ask the sellers if they have anything else to sell when i get there and am usually pleasantly surprised.

i was also pleasantly surprised that when i removed the fabric from this seat and the wrong side looked like this..completely different than the right side.
i think i'll save it for another project.....
i'm off to washington dc tomorrow night for 5 days as a chaperone for austen's school...
have a great weekend!!!!

What a timely post! I was thinking of a way to extend my too-short headboard and I think wood screws will do the trick. Sanded and painted you can't even tell that the legs have had implants. Awesome job!

Awesome! I've been searching for tall nightstands (which apparently don't exist in thrift land). You are a genius!
